Jimmy Lewis & Sons Grading & Septic Inc. is a full-service grading, utilities, and sitework contractor based in Roxboro, North Carolina. The company was established in 1969 by Jimmy and Portia Lewis, who operated the initial business out of their home in Roxboro, working long hours to ensure its success. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis opened the current office location in 1971, where it has been in continuous operation ever since, as the company has grown and evolved.

In the mid-1990’s, Jimmy and Portia brought their sons, Carter and Retrac, into the management of the business. Since then, Carter and Retrac have divided the original company into two separate entities:

Jimmy Lewis & Sons Grading & Septic, Inc. is owned and operated by Carter, the older son, and is focused mainly on commercial and municipal sitework, utilities, and grading projects.

Jimmy Lewis Contracting is owned and operated by Retrac Lewis and tends to local residential and commercial septic projects.

Presently, Jimmy Lewis & Sons has ongoing projects throughout North Carolina. Projects in Charlotte, Durham, Stovall, Chapel Hill, and other areas of the state keep our skilled crews busy and our fleet of equipment moving. We employ state-of-the-art estimating technology along with GPS-driven equipment that ensures efficient projects that are completed with a minimum amount of waste. Our long-established presence means we have developed strong and beneficial relationships with suppliers and contractors alike. The business is deeply rooted in the local community, with an eye to the future and all that North Carolina has to look forward to.
